"Skatin Place"
began as a cable access television show that focused on the vibrant San Francisco Bay Area
skate scene. The show aired every Monday evening at 8:30 P.M. on cable channel 29 with
live broadcasts on the 2nd Monday of every month. Skatin' Place has been honored with two Cable Access Awards and was nominated for a BACE (Bay Area Cable Excellence) award in 1998. It was considered one of the most successful shows on San Francisco public access until the SFCTC Board of Directors began instituting destructive policies that has ruined the public access experience for many producers on the channel. Please take the time to look at the information above about our plans to reinvent Public Access Television in the City with the San Francisco Public Access Project. Also see how we have used the internet where Skatin' Place plays before a worldwide audience, You can watch everything from skate races and skate demos and other special happenings to the Midnight Rollers Friday Night Skate Burning Man and skating in Golden Gate Park. Come step into the world of "The Godfather of Skating", D. Miles Jr. |
